Did you like hymns as a jw?
by jean-luc picard ini was just explaining to mrs picard........ never a jw, and not english, how we used to celebrate the harvest festival, when i was 7 and younger, before my parents converted to jw'ism.. i loved to sing "we plough the fields and scatter".
of course, singing such hymns is, to a jw, paramount to apostasy,with the death penalty like punishment the ensued.. how really stupid their harsh rules.. did you have any favourite hymns?.
i think we would all agree, that they beat the pants off the "kingdom melodies".

I was always told by JW's the songs in the churches were to stir up emotions.

After I left the truth, I went back to my old church for a while. I joined the men's
choir. Singing those sounds that I raised in, Baptist church. We rocked I must say,
but gave it up when I was singing a duet and passed out. That ended my singing
career in the church. But I love the songs.

You right, Mark 16:51 was dropped. It read go and preach to those dogs, they changed it to
Mark 16:15. It sounded more loving.

I don't think that is good news. Hell if that is love, what the hell is hate. In fact, you don't
need to be an enemy, even those who would rather not believe in Jesus
are condemned to to be set a blazed.

HB: yes,this is to show the idiocy in the belief of JW's doctrines. I doubt many here believe
that Adam was the first man. LOL
There are folks here that is very knowledgeable when comes to the Bible, so when we have a
opportunity to sit with our love ones who are still trapped in the cult,we will be ready
to speak the truth. It's a fact, we are more versed in JW teaching then the average JW.
The know nothing about their own doctrine.. So by breaking down, analyzing and just ripping
their stupid doctrines apart, we may open the eyes of some. So you wonder why they are so
afraid of the dreaded Apostate.

Goodwill stores: A gathering place for Jehovahs Witnesses.
by Joliette ini recently started working at a goodwill here in wisconsin, and i've never encountered more witnesses ever in my life.
every time i go to work, i see at least two or three people that i used to go to the kingdom hall with getting suits, dresses, etc.
some of them say hi, but some of them i just ignore, or they ignore me.
